Course Description:

NCR Country Club was designed by the late Dick Wilson and opened for play in 1954. The club has two distinctly different 18-hole courses. The North Course is a links style course, with classic greens and an open turfgrass growing environment. It is a par 70 and stretches to 6,828 yards at the tips. The South Course has newly regrassed T1/Alpha Bentgrass greens, and is a par 71. The South Course measures 7,048 yards of wooded and rolling countryside. It has long been included in Golfweek’s “Top 100” classic designs. The South Course has hosted the 2013 USGA Women’s State Team Championship, 2005 U.S. Senior Open, 1998 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 1986 U.S. Women’s Open, and the 1969 PGA Championship.

Education:

Must currently be enrolled in a 2-4 year turfgrass program. Previous golf course experience not required.

Salary & Benefits:

$11.00 - $12.00, commensurate with experience. Will assist with locating housing near club. Golfing privileges, uniforms, discounted meals & club apparel, the ability to assist & attend at a national golf tournament.

Description:

Interns will play an active role in the day to day operations at NCR Country Club. Our active club schedule will teach you key skills to be successful in the industry such as; efficiency, planning and implementation, fast thinking, team work, dedication, and much more. Duties will include but are not limited to; course setup, chemical and fertilizer applications, disease and pest identification, monitoring course conditions, hand watering and operating the irrigation system, irrigation repair, leading small crews, drainage design and installation, and any other activities that may be required, as well as operations tasks such as staff management and budget analysis. The internship is not a "job" rather a building block for your career path. We are looking for those individuals who posses a mindset for learning and attention to detail, as well as ambition to excel as a professional in a competitive golf course industry.
